Any leader who will change his mind so drastically, from North to South, in such a short time, is not the leader I want for me. It was pretty well laid out that Albertans and many other Canadians do not want a carbon tax. What part of "NO CARBON TAX" does O'toole not understand?

With Conservatives like these, who needs Liberals!!!

Exactly, lets help Albertans come together on a plan that addresses everyone’s needs instead of highlighting partisan differences! Conservative, Liberal, who cares? I want my right to peace and good government upheld more than anything else.

Tom I seriously impressed with briefly skimming it over. When it reaches fruition, I'll become a believer but I don't believe any of this is possible as long as Trudeau and the current Federal structure stay in place beyond the Liberals. I believe this is asking for the freedoms and respect only gained by leaving this CORRUPT Confederation Called CANADA!

I thought this was supposed to be a forum for intelligent debate... wexit is not feasible no matter how much you hate the current federal government no matter how much you dislike them. If you’re going to have a temper tantrum then please stop doing it online.

Well didn't you just prove there is no intelligent debate considering its obvious you have no idea at all how this government system is structured, how it did or why. If so then there maybe some intelligent debate to be had. Try reading a history book Knowledge is power.

I've stopped expecting any help from Ottawa/Toronto/Montreal/Quebec City, or, for that matter from British Columbia. I hope we can get our more-independent act together here in Alberta. With a stronger provincial position we can, perhaps, begin to negotiate with other provinces from a better bargaining posture. Separation is unlikely and might not be to advantage, but independent assertion of the powers that properly belong to Alberta under a federal system, including those that take back our overcontributions and clarify our jurisdiction will be helpful. Meanwhile, I won't likely be able to vote for a better party than this one; more's the pity.

Quick question. Wasn't it the previous Conservative party that put the current equalization formula in place? Yes, yes it is.

The Harper Conservatives, Kenney among them, brought in a new equalization formula with the 2007 budget. The more generous formula – up 20 per cent between 2006 and 2008 – also contained provisions on treatment of property taxation that delivered an even larger increase to Quebec. Quebec’s equalization payment went up 50 per cent from $4.8 billion to $7.2 billion over the two years.

And while I'd appreciate less money going to Quebec, how do we know your ideas will be accepted and implemented where Albertans will get a fair shake?
