Seems only you are working on all these issues! Are there others who feel the same as you? Can’t you band together and ‘raise a little hell’ so things move at more than a snail’s pace. We certainly do need new leaders, we government but to fix so many wrongs seems like a task that may never get a good start or ever be completed. It seems there is SO much h govt corruption; it’s overwhelming . Thank you for keeping us informed. Let’s hope for a better year in 2025!
Gross incompetence in the passport issuance system has been very much evident since the days of Achmed Ressam, the illegal Algerian refugee claimant who skipped out on his hearing and went underground. He used a fraudulently obtained new Canadian passport to travel to Pakistan to obtain terror training and re-appeared as the millennium bomber. In the period leading up to the year 2000, he was able to apply for a new Canadian passport in the name of Bene Antione Norris, by forging on a Quebec baptismal certificate he had stolen from a church in Verdun. Of course the passport office never checked with the guarantor to confirm the identity of the applicant. The problem arises from lack of internal resources at the passport office, general government incompetence and pressure placed upon MPs from constituents who want their new passports in a hurry. In the 24 years since the millennium bomber plot was thwarted by an alert US customs guard, it appears that nothing was learned and in addition the passport guarantor requirements have been relaxed !
